The two types of Non-Verbal Communication messages

NVC messages can be distinguished essentially in two different categories:

1) Detectors: are those signals that we emit, for example, through facial mime, and which reinforce or reveal additional elements about what one is saying. An example is a girl who speaks and tells that she has prepared a cake the day before, and while she is saying it she has an expression of disgust, a sign that apparently the cake was not very good. All these signals are important because they integrate the word-communicated message and often contain essential shades. An example that reveals the importance of it is that of a gentleman entering a store to buy a cell phone and the salesman shows him a first model saying that it costs 800 euros, and at the same time revealing a micro-expression of doubt, such as to involuntarily communicate, he thinks that it is an excessive price. At this point, the first gentleman will be able to say whether the cell phone is really equipped with all the elements that make it cost 800 euros, so that he can pay it at a discount price or switch to another model.

2) Incongruent, false: they are signs that reveal a contrast between what is spoken verbally and the feeling that is really being felt about what has been said. You may face unconcerned inconsistencies, so a person who expresses interest in a project, but at the same time keeps his legs crossed under his chair, reveals an interior contrast, so it would be good for those who sell the product in question to this gentleman to not give up the deal. Signs of nonverbal communication that betray lies and falsehood are instead linked to hiding something that the subject in question knows well. In short, who lies knows what he's doing.

However, when you lie, you always generate a nervous contrast between the spoken words and the body, which is forced to express the real judgment, the feeling that is being felt. That is why so many cheating merchants invent amazing functions for the products they sell, but they cannot help having facial micro-expressions that betray their joy in selling a unique product. Another unchecked signal is the scratching of the nose to calm the sense of nervousness generated by telling a lie and the tension it generates.
